Steelmade started as a trio in 2018 and was nominated for the 35th German Rock and Pop Award with the song ”We are Bizarre.” Since 2022, the band has presided over a growing diehard fan base under the watch of frontwoman Li Van Texas - joined by the co-founders Joe Wilhelm (drums) and Jadro Bastalic (guitar) and bassist Max Unger.
Thanks to their captivating live performances, the quartet has quickly evolved from a local act to a sought-after band ready for the big rock stages of Switzerland. With the new album “Toxic”, the band’s sound has matured into an urgent, melodic hybrid of guitar-driven metal rock. The future is bright for these swiss rockers.
Steelmade’s new single, ”Toxic,” tells the story of a poisonous bond between two people, and confronts negative behavior and its impact on those around them - a sense of being trapped in a dark realm. In contrast to this darkness, there’s a vibrant portrayal of a woman who embodies light and passion. Her strength and warmth stand in sharp opposition, symbolizing hope and resilience. The duality of strength and vulnerability is captured in lyrics that suggest both characters possess qualities that are gentle yet powerful, capable of both healing and destruction. Beyond the personal narrative, the song also mirrors and reflects dysfunctional systems in our world.
